Inner Movement

The rhythms, the movement, and what moves when we get into it.

Poster for session 2: The beat, the rhythm that moves us. Saturday 7 November 2026, from 10:00 to 12:30, at Vertical Vic

In this new phase of Inner Movement we will explore the different rhythms, the movements that belong to each of them, and their emotional structures.

In this second session we will work with the beat, the rhythm that moves us.

It is the movement that defines itself: every gesture has a beginning and an end. If continuous movement is circular and unbroken, here there are straight lines, angles and pulses. The body does not flow: it marks the rhythm. Marking the step, taking direction, setting a limit and holding it.

The beat is the first rhythm we feel, and it does not work like a clock: it speeds up, it stops and starts again. From there the axis of the session is born: marking without squaring, defining without hardening. It is not about doing everything straight or holding everything down, but about giving direction to what is already moving.

Feeling the feet, the weight, and moving to the music. It is not about following set steps, but about letting each body find its own shape.

The cycle

One meeting a month at Vertical Vic. Each session works on a different movement and can be followed independently. The one for this month, the beat, is the one above.

Session 2

Saturday, 7 November · 10:00–12:30

Here the movement is marked. Every gesture has a beginning and an end, and you can tell where it starts and stops. You do not flow: you decide, you point, you say «here I am» and you hold it.

Session 3

Saturday, 19 December · 10:00–12:30

You release control and the shape breaks. The body opens beyond what you had planned. It is not collapsing: it is letting go of what no longer holds.

Session 4

Saturday, 16 January · 10:00–12:30

The body opens and plays. What we had not planned shows up: a turn, a repetition, a new shape that nobody taught. Light, wide, weightless.

Session 5

Saturday, 13 February · 10:00–12:30

It is not stopping. It is being fully here. The body settles and you are there, with nothing else to do: the movement grows so small it becomes presence.

Registration at alfonsmolina@gmail.com. Places are limited and confirmed in order of registration.

Inner Movement is a practice of its own. It draws on various lines of bodywork and takes shape session by session.

How a session works

Two and a half hours with live music, with a DJ selection. We begin standing and moving; there is no floor work and no set exercises.

There is no choreography and no demonstration beforehand. Each person finds their own way inside the rhythm, with the single rule of not invading the space of whoever is dancing next to them.

No previous experience is needed, and you do not need to know how to dance. Come in comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water.

Let the weight drop.
Let the skeleton hold.
Let a gesture not finish right away.
Let the music come in before the decision.

Who facilitates it

Alfons Molina has been running Inner Movement for years. He takes care of the music selection and mixes live during the session, listening to what is happening in the room to build the music in the moment.
